Standing water in crawl space

Standing water in your crawl space can cause a mold issue that can cause long term physical issues for you and your family. SERVPRO of Suwannee and Columbia counties would like to provide some tips on what to do if you believe you have a water issue underneath your home.

The first step to take would be to identify the source that is causing the water issue.  Look for areas where water may be puddling on the ground and signs of discoloration on the wood overhead.  The water may be affected by the seasons such as rainy months of the year which could cause water to rise up from the ground.  If you identify that the water is not rising up, the issue may be coming from a leaky pipe.

Depending on how severe the issue is, you may be able to correct the issue.  If the job seems to difficult to take care of on your own, feel free to give SERVPRO of Columbia and Suwannee counties a call and we will take care of the water issue "Like it never even happened."
