Unthought of Causes for Water Loss Damage

Have you Checked your water heater lately?

Water damage is a serious problem that many people don’t realize that if is left untreated it can cause mold, damage to floors, walls and insulation.

There are many causes of water damage such as plumbing system failures which lead to 48%, more water loss than system material failures which is the second leading cause. A cracked pipe, all it takes is a quarter inch crack to lose 250 gallons of water.  Now imagine a pencil eraser sized crack at a constant rate you can lose up to 500 gallons of water just from a small crack. Washing machine supply lines that fail can lead to water damage, a lot of people forget to check the supply line since they aren’t visible. But wear and tear can cause a water leak. The next cause is also forgotten due to it normally not being visible and that is the water heater. Over the years the tank corrodes and if not maintained it is not uncommon to have a slow leak or burst.
